Run XOGO Player on any compatible NEC display for an elegant, all-in-one solution.

No Player? No Problem.

We designed XOGO Player to run on many different operating systems, in order to give our users the utmost flexibility when it comes to choosing their player hardware. But what if you didn't even need a separate player device to run XOGO? What if you could run XOGO Player natively on your smart display, with no need to purchase an external player or hide power and HDMI cables? Now you can. We're excited to announce that XOGO Player is now available on select NEC commercial displays.

Background

A leader in the commercial display market, Sharp / NEC has long been associated with high quality, cutting-edge display technology. Their affordable V-series displays are available with a tiny Raspberry Pi "compute module" (system-on-a-chip) that slots right into the display, eliminating the need for external digital signage players. This makes it possible for users to simply install an RPi-equipped NEC display, connect it to the Internet and run XOGO digital signage.

How it Works

When a user turns on an RPi compute module-equipped display, he/she has the option of selecting XOGO from the on-screen menu. With a few clicks of the remote control, XOGO Player self-installs and displays our familiar PIN code screen. Then it can be controlled by our XOGO Manager app like any other XOGO player, and assigned a playlist. Within seconds your content is playing on the NEC screen - and all without the need to purchase or plug in any external hardware!

Benefits

Running XOGO Player natively on an NEC display saves users money by eliminating the need to purchase additional hardware. Installations become easier and faster as well, since there are no cables to hide or additional devices to plug in and configure. And since NEC's RPi compute module uses the same RPi4 chipset as our best-selling XOGO Mini devices, they are perfectly optimized for performance when running the XOGO Player app. Users simply choose XOGO during display setup, then follow our Getting Started instructions to add the display to XOGO Manager and send it a playlist. It's all part of our effort to ensure that XOGO is the industry's easiest and most affordable digital signage platform.
